Realizing that firecrackers and pyrotechnics are also useful in festivities and other celebrations, the Sangguniang Panlungsod ng Balanga (city council) passed an ordinance amending its past ordinance banning the explosive materials.
In its amended ordinance, the city council allowed some exceptions in the use of firecrackers and other pyrotechnics such as celebration of foundation day or charter anniversary; when the firecrackers are used by any other person or entity or any traditional occasion; and when used by farmers or farm workers to protect their rice fields from pests.
The ordinance shall take effect immediately upon compliance with the requirements of the relevant provisions of Republic Act No. 7160.
